36 years old Jamia Suzette “Jayma” Mays is an American actress and singer. She was born in Bristol, Tennessee and raised in Grundy, Virginia, the daughter of Susan Paulette and James Edwin Mays, a high school teacher who also worked in the coal mining industry.
She is known for playing Emma Pillsbury on the Fox musical series Glee, her recurring role as Charlie Andrews on the NBC sci-fi serial Heroes, and for starring in the films Paul Blart: Mall Cop and The Smurfs. She was raised in Grundy, Virginia, with her older brother and sister.
At school, Jayma enjoyed Math and singing. She graduated from high school in 1997. She then went on to get an Associate degree from Southwest Virginia Community College. She then did a year at Virginia Tech, transferring to Radford University. After earning her degree in Theatre in 2000, she moved to California.
This will be the first child for Jayma and her husband English actor Adam Campbell. The couple previously met while filming the 2007 flick Epic Movie and later married in October 2007.
Along with “Glee”, Mays is known for her roles in shows such as “Ugly Betty”, “The League”, “Wet Hot American Summer: First Day of Camp” and “How I Met Your Mother”, as well as films including “Paul Blart: Mall Cop”. Campbell has starred in films such as “The Five-Year Engagement”
and shows “Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt” and Harper’s “Island”.
