We are living at times when different people of different religion, caste, countries and races all live together in peace. Or at least in some places they do keeping their differences aside. But the same cannot be said about everyone who share this world with us, because everyone have their own sets of beliefs and not everyone is understanding or able to live with keeping their issues and problems aside. And lately this can be witnessed by some really out of the blue and very different sets of laws that are getting enforced and practiced in places like Saudi Arabia. This new set of law has taken attention of the whole world, because what it does is that it bans the naming of people with certain names and titles.

Last Friday, a media source of Saudi was able to release a report that the royal family has worked with the government in enlisting and enacting the registry of a whole list of names which are from now on forbidden. Which means that from this point of time parents who are living in Saudi Arabia will be prohibited from giving their children certain names which are on the list. A British news website called The Independent news website was able to jot down some more about this new ban of names. According to their report most of the names which were noted to be forbidden are of western type and natures, some examples of such names are Chris, Linda, Alice and Elaine which are now all banned to be used for naming a child anymore. Also a peculiar name of Israeli leaders such as Binyamin is also now banned to be used.
Another news report from the Gulf News says that the names which are now allegedly band were made to be so by the Interior Ministry, the reason for them to do so is because they consider these names to be blasphemous, since they would cause to be conflicting with the main kingdom’s religion and culture, since these names tend to be very non-Islamic or non-Arabic. Hence they termed these names to be foreign and inappropriate. The Daily mail also adds to the whole chaos that one of the name which is banned also has a political reason behind it, that name is Abdul Naser. Abdul Naser is the name of one of the famous Egyptian nationalist, the reason for his name being banned is because of the odds that he had with Saudi Arabia.

Few other names which are banned now are the ones which have some kind of suggestions of royalty, such names are Malika (which means queen) and Malek (which means king). But according to another website, some names also seemed to be banned for no apparent reason and quite frankly seem quite random to be on that list.

In Chechnya same type of news was also found where according to a motivation program, new mothers were paid $1000 for naming their baby boys “Mohammad”
